Each quilt accepted in the show must include a label on the back of the quilt. The label can be pieced into the quilt or appliqued on the back, however it must include the quilt name, the quilt maker’s name, address, phone number, and date completed.
Quilts in the show will be hung with sleeves. Large and small quilts require 4” sleeves. Quilting Challenge Miniature quilts require 1.5” sleeves. Please review Jacquie Gering’s great tutorial on how to make and apply a sleeve to your quilt here.
QuiltCon will insure quilts up to $500. We require a $5 payment for this service. We recommend that if your quilt is valued at over $500, you have an appraisal and the proper insurance coverage to cover your quilt while it is being transported to QuiltCon and while it is on display. If your quilt is appraised over $500, it is the owner’s responsibility to insure the quilt. QuiltCon is not responsible for the quilt during shipping.
All quilts accepted into the QuiltCon Show must be mailed to Austin, Texas at the expense of the participant. All accepted quilts must be received at the address on the shipping form by February 9, 2013. All domestic quilts will be mailed back to the maker via UPS ground. The last shipment of quilts is scheduled for March 8th.
